The Horizon Speakerline Speaker Level Direct Box is a great way to get your instrument's amplifier sound into the mixing console (or any desired mic level input) without mic'ing it. This allows the pure punch and clarity of the amp to enter the console without the undesired effects of mic'ing (e.g. feedback or the bass drum bleeding into the mic that's supposed to mic only your amp). To use it, simply plug the speaker output jack from the amplifier into the amp in jack of the Speakerline Box (must use speaker cable) and connect your speakers (with speaker cable) into the amp out jack. Then plug a standard XLR mic cable into the Lo-Z output of the box to go to the snake or mixing console. It has a ground lift switch for buzz-free operation in almost any environment, 18 gauge steel housing and recessed connectors and switches to resist damage.
