5" Depth Heavy-duty 18 Gauge Steel construction. The FB5 has a limited application. Primarily used when you have a limited depth for the box to recess into the floor. This Floor Box is loaded with 1 connector of your choice. These recessed floor boxes are designed for permanent installations (houses of worship, boardrooms, court rooms, performance halls, etc.) where multiple microphone, speaker, instrument, video and most any other connector need to be easily available yet recessed and protected when not in use. These boxes are very rugged and durable due to the thick steel frame and lids which are standard. The lids are slotted for easy opening as well as allowing the lid to shut with cables plugged into the recessed connectors. Horizon offers 3 stock sizes of these boxes to better accommodate the specific size and connector requirements of different installations. These floor boxes are the mid-size models of the three sizes and are ideal for UP TO 8 connectors. HOWEVER, we strongly recommend the FB8 model for boxes with more that 6 connectors, because the depth of the FB8 allows for easier access to the connectors and provides an extra three inches of depth for more that 6 cables to come thru the lid opening. The FB8 is only $6.00 more than FB5 comparable configurations. |
