Direct Boxes, Direct Injection, DI Box
Direct boxes convert instrument level signal to balanced microphone signals. As a matter of reference, instrument outputs should not be run more than 30 feet. Direct boxes are sometimes refered to as DI boxes or Direct Inject boxes.
